Eating from the Exporter - Everfresh Seafood Restaurant, Palembang

Palembang is one of the 9th largest city in Indonesia with a populace of 1.5 mil. They are co-hosting the Asian Games 2018 together with the city of Jakarta. The excitement can be felt as the locals are very proud of the privilege to be part of the Games tradition. A light rail transit is being constructed from the airport to the Games Village to facilitate unimpeded movements as the "macet" in town is really bad.

It was also a look at history for a me as a Malaysian. The Malays in Malaysia were originally from here and they have a monument testifying to it. The Bahasa Indonesia here sound the same as Bahasa Malaysia and they use the similar words as in Malaysia.

We were hosted to a lunch at a nice seafood restaurant on Sunday. It was a huge one. The owner is not just operating a restaurant but also involved in upstream activities as an exporter of seafood.

The quality of the food here was undisputed. Everything was fresh. The steamed prawns (not in pic) were as though were swimming just a moment ago.
