Soon Heong Teow Chew Seafood, Aman Puri, Kepong

My wife and I went looking for food one of the evening. The lamentations have always been there is not many good food joints at the SD6-15 side of Bandar Sri Damansara. 10 minutes away would be Desa Aman Puri. Much more varieties there. We spotted this potential. This restaurant offers air-con comfort and al fresco dining (roadside). It is pretty spacous indoors.

Signature dishes are the way to go when we are new. The food came in big portions and we went belly-up. We hardly have problems polishing off the dishes but this time we surrendered. Total cost: Less than RM50 with drinks.

Curry Fish Head - Average quality. The weak colour curry was a harbinger of not so tasty dish. The pieces from the head were fresh. The meaty pieces were not. So both come from different batches. Came with lots of vege so saved on a vege dish.Pork Ribs in Salted Egg Sauce - The rich sauce weighed us down. Check out the salty egg yolk clinging to the meat! Dish was tasty and ribs meaty.Deep Fried Tofu - Besides tofu there were many components mixed in. They gave body and also fresh aroma. Came piping hot. My upper palate was slightly seared! No. 3-68A, Block P, Jalan Desa 2/3, Desa Aman Puri,

The curry fish head broth looks much more different than Penang version's. Here we got more watery and more chili oil.

Pity that they mixed the batches o meat for the curry... Freshness is paramount for a good fish head curry, methinks.

LI... KL folks like it thick. Thick assam laksa, thick curry laksa. Kiasu.

LforB... Hard to get good fresh meat. I hardly eat fish unless I am familiar with the restaurant. Unless it comes live.

CampC... My first was with crabs. Real good. It's like pepper and salt prawns losing its appeal.

That salted egg pork ribs dish looks divine. I gotta get me some, with lots of fluffy white rice!
