Nara Thai Food, Desa Melawati, Ulu Klang

Hidden spots. A little out of the way. Local knowledge. Nara is one of them. The township is adjacent to Taman Melawati and the road in is also the one going right into the majestic limestone cliffs of Klang Gates. If you can find the Muslim cemetery the shop is on the opposite side.

The lunch and dinner crowd has always been there and it has survived for almost 10 years in a commercially dead area. The lunch food are very Malay, mind you not mamak. It has lots of ulam, spices and herbs and coconut milk in its various dishes offered 'chap fan' style. The price is very reasonable.

We have dinner not too long ago after a hiatus of 5-6 years. We decided to go Southern Thai. In fact, on previous occassions I did converse in Thai with owners' family. Total cost: RM50.00 for three pax.
ABC - The rose syrup is much too red. Average.
Normal stuff. Fried rice.Mango Salad. A bit flat. No dired shrimps. Not enough lime juice.Seafood otak-otak. It is good except for the crabs. Not so fresh.Seafood Tom Yam. Expected it to be better. Crabs and shrimps are not so fresh.Pandan Chicken. Taste good but over cooked as it uses chicken breast. If it uses meat from the leg and drunstick it would be scrumptiously tasty and tender!
