Straits Cafe - Centrepoint, Bandar Utama

1Utama I know but where on earth is the Centrepoint. I got my answer as well as a visit to Straits Cafe. It must put on record however, I was more interested in the Cagayan's pork ribs but it was closed on a Sunday afternoon. It was wretched luck but it was mitigated by a good outing at Straits Cafe.

Centrepoint looks like a regal version of the Singapore's Food Court. I like the homely feel and the casual unhurried pace where folks come in their Bermudas with children in tow. It is there to serve the Bandar Utama folks.

Special offer of the month.
Northern Fried Rice with Belacan, Dried Shrimp and 7 side items thrown in! Really tasty and appetisingly done. Well presented. They take pride in their food which is comforting.
The Nasi Lemak Rendang was of premium quality. Like the taste, look and the varieties of sides.

This dish will make any Thai proud as if it is from Thailand!? Anywhere this joint surprised me by the quality of their food.

Desserts in all its glory. Simple, delectable and sitting by a pond in the middle of a complex lined with greenery and trees plus live carps in the pond. This summed up a pleasant afternoon out.
Ice Kacang in a Cafe should be a good experience. But this failed the test. Someone forgot to flood it with Evaporated Milk.

The Ice Kacang without evaporated milk is fine by me!! Always prefered the more austere version without it anyway!
