Gudeg Ayam Kampung - Jogjakarta, Indonesia

We arrived at almost midnight in Jogjakarta on the 8th July (Tuesday). This is the place where the ancient Buddhist Borobodur is.

Not having our dinner as yet we joined the local Javanese in having a late meal along the five foot way. No tables and chairs. Patrons will sit on the sidewalk with mats.
I went to order the food: chicken stew in coconut milk, steamed young jack fruit, hardboiled egg and steamed rice.
My dinner at the sidewalk cafe
As with the East Java food it is a bit on the sweet side. However, nothing can beat the atmosphere and the localness of the meal.
Yummy
