Restoran TropiKiRi, Prawn Noodles (near Tropicana Club)
Kudos to those proprietors that make an effort to secure a corner commercial lot and even more so when they have an adjoining lot with air-con.
Malaysians can't have enough of these multiple stalls all under one roof where each individual in the group can order to their heart's content and pay individually or bless the generous to share. Tropikiri has 2 lots with a corner. Airy and also has an aircon wing.
We went to the well-known Prawn Noodles. Their broth was reputed to be thick and prawn. The bowl was better than a lot of similar stalls. We liked it. The only drawback was it was configured to be on the sweet side. The condiment was not the much more chili with little to no dried prawns. But then the broth is strong. For those who love lots of robust broth you are in for a treat, the owner floods your bowl with lots of it.
The Wanton noodles have excellent texture and the sauce mix combination was right. Savoury and more sweet for the noodles. The Wanton was solid with fresh meat but lacked the little something like having some sesame oil.
The toast and drinks were run of the mill. Suitable for a quick bite and on the go.
Lastly, the have a nyonya stall selling kuih muih. I bought an array of my favourite Talam, Obde Onde, Angku and Bingka. Well, it's good and with enough santan, Gula Melaka, mung beans and the usual flour fillers. The taste was sugar toned down but the primary and essential ingredients were there to shine. I enjoyed it and whacked the lot after all; it was a lazy Sunday afternoon.
They have many more stalls to check out. I spotted a bowl of one of my favourite noodles on a good number of tables. I will zero in on my next trip.
