1- Michelin Star Hawker Chan, Ipoh
Finally, got a chance to patronise this lovely joint from Singapore, though the owner is from you know where, ahem. Modern, clean, polite servers and organised. With a 1 Michelin star to boot, who can resist.
Top was their signature Braised Chicken, smooth and done right with delicate soy sauces plus spices like clove and star anise. You get the fresh, appetising feel without the stickiness from the gelatin and being overwhelming by the protein. You may want to have more if it
Rated superb was also their noodles. Clean water for cooking the noodles. Should be diligently changed to rid of residue chemicals and starches. So we got clean and unadulterated noodles mingling freely with an array of great sauces. Subtle, not over-powering yet distinctive.
The roast pork, BBQ Pork and BBQ ribs were OK. I would say the BBQ Pork ranked the best of the lot. The ribs were slathered with spicy sauces, a departure from the norm. Try and see if you like these.
