Sri Damansara Club - Sri D' Coffee House

Side View of Sri Damansara Club House
Sri D Coffee House is no traditional joint. It has an overhanging patio overlooking the pool with cool green palm and pine trees within sight. After all it is within the club premise in the nice Bandar Sri Damansara neighbourhood. Non-club members were allowed access for meals. If one feels too cramped up and want to release some tensions and stress in the midst of wide open space and nature hop over for a drink, snack or even stomach filling meal.

I have seen this coffee house packing in the office hour crowd lending credence that it has above average food and relaxing views. The Chinese Restaurant, Jade Palace, next door has closed and a Thai Restaurant, Phai Lin, is the next change. Hope this is good as BSD is really lacking in the good eats department. It should open this week.
Open air, fan operated cooling only. Make sure you get cold drinks.
Pine trees and coconut palms to relax the eyes and free it from bondage of sights of the concrete kind.
The price is value for money and the taste is good. Drinks are not but then one has the option of having a plain glass of water served without being asked, free.

Curry Capitan served with plain rice. RM10 (+5% +10%). Three pieces of chicken with curry that can feed almost 2 pax. Curry has great body, packed with herbs and spices. I loved it's coarseness and I can bite into the bits of glorious galangal, serai etc before swallowing it. That's good curry for me.

Thai Fried Rice. Was more than the run of the mill fried rice. Strong 'wok hei'. Well season with spices and taste good for the palate. And some papadam on the sides to good effect to excite the sights and stomach juices. RM8.50 (+5% +10%).Fresh juice at RM6.10 (+5% +10%) is a bit on the high side. I guess many will come for a drink and take in the nice sights as well. That's the premium I guess.
Mushroom Omelettte was well done and neat for the eyes but bland for the tongue. Should have given a choice of sauces like mushroom or black pepper. RM8.80 (+5% +10%).

Love your description of the curry chicken... coarseness, tick! Spices that prove that it's not of powder origins, tick! Is the club open to the public as well?

The food is much more tempting than your previous post on Philippine food.

hmm, curry kapitan really so tempting...and the fried rice looks just normal...but taste so good huh? surprising, lots of clubs serve good food. the Royal Perak Golf Club here also serve good food
Probably to cater for the neighborhood crowd as this is a family club if we are not mistaken , so must be affordable with popular food choices

I generally stay away from club food because it's expensive and not on par with outside food. >P

FfT... Some may have aversion for club food. I try to settle down and relax in the coffee house and usually entertain in the chinese retaurant.

FP... Good enough for us and will return for others once a while.
