Tuck Kee Restaurant - Yit Kong Hor (Moon Flat Noodles), Ipoh

This restaurant is famous for their Yit Kong Hor (Moon Flat Noodles) and the miniature octopuses. If you are the type that stay out late, head to this eatery as it will cater for the hungry souls till 2am. The food were good, filling, hearty and reasonably priced. The menu is simple. Full blooded carbo dishes with lots of sides to complement.

Here's how I ranked it:
1. Poached octopus with peanut sauce 4/5
2. Moon Flat Noodles 3½/5
3. Pork Balls 3/4
4. Yee Mee 4/5
5. Noodles made from fish paste 4/5
6. Cantonese Flat Noodles 3/5

Poached octopus got the crunch and the little drizzle of the soy sauce added to the taste besides the peanut sauce. The Yee Mee had the wok hei and the sweet and savoury sauce was a perfect match.

The highlight of the meal was the noodles made from fish paste. It was new in their menu and tried it we did and it came through with flying colours. The 'noodles' were firm and had some bounce to it. The gravy/thick soup was good for late night hunger relief. We felt fed and fulfilled after the bowl and only then were ready to slip into the night and back to sleep.
