Samy & Min Bak Kut Teh 三美肉骨茶 @ Oasis Ara Damansara
Seldom we get a menu that properly lists and describes what you are going to get at the Bak Kut Teh joint. Wait no longer at this famous Botanic Garden, Klang BKT restaurant. I got myself the knuckle, fat small bone and mushroom and intestine.
The porcelain bowls came heated from the fire source below. My bowls were literally boiling. It's similar to the aromatherapy concept. The soup is thof the typical Klang type: thick, black and almost sticky with gelatine rather than the black pepper heavy light soup.
The knuckle was excellent eap the skin, tendon and fat. If that's trinity of BKT that you yearn for, this is it. The skin and the rest were done just nice, not too chewy and too soft. Some fight but also they yield.
My fat small bone has some nice fat and skin but the lean meat was a bit too lean for me. Will not order this again. For those who like more lean meat than skin and fat this is for you. The small intestine was a bit too thin but the mushroom was thick and succulent.
