Pigging Out at Subang Jaya, SS14 - Yu Kee Bak Kut Teh
Six claypots of meat! One pot of 'sin choy' as an afterthought. We really pigged (no pun intended) it out at Yu Kee BKT. This is my second BKT joint I visited in SS14. The other was Chuan Chiew situated along the same row.
And enjoyed we did. The food here was really good. The better one in comparison. Taste was well- balanced without the heavy-handed usage of salt in Chuan Chiew for their dry version. The menu here I thought is more better. Of particular interest was the 'pig's stomach white pepper soup'. This is one tummy warming (literally), jaw exercising (from the workout chewing the just right texture of the stomach) and full-bodied but not overwhelming peppery taste of the whitish broth. Free re-fills for the BKT soup and pig's stomach soup made my day.
Directions: From Sunway Lagoon continue on the NPE towards Inti and Metropolitan College on the right. Once over and down the flyover exit at the first left turn (legal). Its the block of shops behind those fronting the NPE.

The stars and more to come.
The mix pot with pork and innards was not over-cooked. I like the firmness of the meat and the fat was taut. The tautness is good for BKT except that I like it vey soft when it is braised or stewed. 7/10.Vinegared Trotters. The vinegar was never pungent. I hated it when certain brand was used and the vapour assaulted my nostrils. 7/10.The best dish at 7.5/10.This is a kind of a dry version. Braised I thought. The chicken feet impart its gelatinous goodness into the pot coating the pork belly. 7/10.Sin Choy, Chap Choy, Choy Koet, Assam Choy. Sour mustard vegetables! 6/10.
