RM18/kg Crabs - Tak Fok Seafood Restaurant, Aman Puri, Kepong

It was a weekday and by the time we arrived it was 8:40pm. There was no line and tables alfresco and inside was available. Except for the air-conditioning, this place is a really like our regular 'tai chow' coffee shop. Food took just 10 minutes to arrive. Some MSG.

Appetizer and some basic 'kah chang' all ready to tackle the crabs, the star of this restaurant.

Deep-fried mantou. A sheen of oil on the surface but did not feel oily when eaten. Skin was crispy and the inside is soft and smells like a freshly cook pastry - 7/10.Butter cheese crabs - 6/10. Though smelt fresh the meat was not firm enough. For RM18/kg expect some smaller size crabs mixed with some medium ones. Those who do not like cheese skip this style as the cheese smell was strong. However, the sauces were thick and plentiful and that's where the mantou came in.

Salted-egg style. It was well coated. Complement the crab meat as it is rather bland, save the fresh crabby smell which indicates freshness - 7/10.

Marmite Pork Ribs. A bit chewy. Not the best cut and quality - 6/10.Fresh, crunchy and a good dish to round up the meal - 7/10.
