EcoGreen Life Cafe, Taman Tun
A medical doctor treated me to an organic lunch at Taman Tun. He is known as a discipline eater. EcoGreen serves organic and vegetarian food. It is owned by Organic Wong who also has 20 acres of farm in Rembau, Negeri Sembilan applying the organic farming methodology.
This is my first at an organic eatery. It is spacious as it occupies double shoplot, bright with a minimalist and simple styling. I feel completely at home. The staff was attentive and the food was served promptly. Within the eatery there is also space/shelves with organic products. Good synergy. Shoppers of organic products will also have their meals there.
Most of the meals are below RM10.00. Creamy laksa at RM5.90!! I had one of the best 'to fu far' since a long while. You should expect the usual lemongrass drink etc etc.
What make this place extra special? Minimum oil was used. No trans-fat. No MSG, no microwaving, no food enhancers, additives, flavouring and preservatives.
This place serves only chicken and fish meat. Fish was sourced from Semporna, Sabah and delivered fresh with no preservatives. Semporna is not only famous as a launching pad to Sipadan but also for its sea aquaculture. When I was there in 1991 lobsters and groupers were already breeding in cages. The sea is very clean and crystal clear. There was no mud and sand. Most of the material on the shore was chalk white tiny bits of corals and shells. The sun rays penetrate through and was reflected and refracted out through these white coral and shells.Wonderful place for marine life. Their chicken are free-ranging.

Organic Brown Rice Nasi Ulam with Mackerel - with tonnes of organic vegetables, herbs and spices. The leaves are crunchy and gives body to the food. With so many colours, smells and tastes what more can I ask for!

LfB... centuries old monuments decayed due to air pollution and homo sapiens afflicted with all kinds of ailments due to ingesting chemicals used in foods.
ling239... I think these fishes were caught by fishermen and were preserved in ice rather than formalin. Formalin will pickled our internal digestive organs!
We always have a strange feeling that this kind of set-up ( like most vegetarin restaurants) is just another unabashed business gimmick , and so should be taken as such , for we firmly believe that if you really want to be healthy you should only eat home cooked food + doing the other 100 things
LOL !
